BLOWN AWAY.

My first time in the desert and I am blown away!!

Located in the Mojave desert, Joshua Tree National Park is unlike anything I have seen.

I was lucky enough to spend the month of January camping at California National Parks. After hanging with the redwoods and sequoias, Joshua Tree was out last stop!

Check out this video of us camping in Joshua Tree National Park in January!

The Joshua Tree! The most interesting tree in the world.

These enchanting trees dominate the park

Growing up in North Carolina where thick forestry overrules. It was striking to be able to see the desert floor meeting the mountains and the mountains meeting the sky. Open and vulnerable.

It is a first come first serve at Joshua Tree National Park. The first night we got in too late and could not find a camping spot so we had to get a hotel. (no complaints after a hot shower.) We got up bright and early and snagged a spot at Ryan Campground.

Cylindropuntia Bigelovii, the Teddy bear Cholla

Ferocactus Cylindraceus – a species of barrel cactus.

Isn’t she gorgeous!

I ❤ Joshua Tree!
